Acupuncture
Dr Joseph Wang is a qualified and experienced acupuncturist having obtained his
Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture from the Singapore College of Traditional Medicine
in 2019.
He uses acupuncture as an adjunct to western medicine to treat chronic conditions which
do not respond well to medicines and in elderly patients to reduce the adverse effects of
medicines.
Acupuncture can be used to treat a variety of conditions such as chronic neck, back and knee pain, migraine, vertigo, tinnitus, numbness, general malaise, muscle flaccidity, urinary incontinence, anxiety disorder and insomnia.
Unlike western medicine, acupuncture is slow-acting and may take a few weeks and months to have a therapeutic effect. A typical treatment regimen usually involves 2 acupuncture sessions a week with each session lasting 30 to 45 minutes. The duration of treatment needed depends on the condition. For muscle pain and stiffness, it usually takes 3 to 4 sessions to see a relief in symptoms. For other more complicated conditions, a longer duration of treatment may be needed.
Acupuncture costs $30 to $60 per session depending on the number of needles used and duration. For the first session, you will need to pay a consultation fee of $25. For subsequent sessions, the repeat consultation fee is $15. For regular patients who require acupuncture in the long run, doctor may waive off the consultation fees on a case by
case basis.
You will need to book an appointment first for an acupuncture session. Once you arrive
at the clinic, please inform the counter staff you have an appointment for acupuncture
and you will be brought to the treatment room. Doctor will usually begin the session on
